Dashiwo Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Fangshan District, Beijing, is located in east longitude 115°42′33″~115°50′59″, north latitude 39°30′22″~39°38′37″. Situated in the southwest of Fangshan District, bordering on Changgou Town in the east, neighboring on Dongxianpo Village of Zhuozhou City of Hebei Province in the south, connecting on Zhangfang Town in the west and adjoining on Hancunhe Town in the north. The town area is 91.56 square kilometers. In 1949, Dashiwu area belongs to three districts of Fangshan county. in 1953, it belongs to new five districts of Fangshan county. in 1954, it belongs to five townships of Fangshan county, namely, Shaitan, Shihwu, Nanshangle, Beishangle, and Shimen. in 1956, it belongs to three townships, namely, Nanshangle, Shaitan, and Shihwu. in 1958, it was assigned to Nanshangle management area of Changgou People's Commune of Zhoukoudian district. in 1961, it was assigned to Nanshangle people's commune of Fangshan county. in 1983, the commune was changed to a township. in 1972, the commune was changed to a township.
