In 1206, Genghis Khan established the Mongol Khanate. in the 1920s, the people of all ethnic groups in Inner Mongolia, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), actively engaged in anti-feudal and anti-invasion struggles. on May 1, 1947, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government was established in the Temple of the King. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Government was renamed the People's Government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In 1664, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty divided Inner Mongolia into Inner Zasak and Outer Zasak Mongolia with the Gobi as the boundary. The name "Inner Mongolia" was originally derived from "Inner Zasak Mongolia" and is still used today. Inner Mongolia is a vast land, rich in resources, known as "East Forest, West Mining, South Agriculture, North Herding", grasslands, forests and per capita arable land area of China's first, the world's largest reserves of rare earth metals, but also China's largest grasslands and pastoral areas. Here is the most well-preserved grassland in China, known as the "pasture kingdom, the sea of songs, the hometown of wine".
In 2023, the gross regional product of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was 2462.7 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 273.7 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5%; the added value of the secondary industry was 117.4 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1%; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 1018.6 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0%.
