Ordos, meaning "many palaces" in Mongolian, with a per capita GDP of 256,908 yuan in 2022, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southwest of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in the hinterland of the Ordos Plateau, between latitudes of 37°35′24″~40°51′40″N and longitudes of 106°42′40″~111°27′20″E. It has a total area of 87,000 square kilometers, and is located in the southwestern part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 42′40″~111°27′20″, with a total area of 87,000 square kilometers. Ordos belongs to the semi-arid continental climate zone in the north temperate zone, with great changes in winter and summer cold and heat. In the twenty-sixth year of Qin Shihuang (221 years ago), Qin Shihuang unified China and set up counties and counties in the area of present-day Ordos; in the thirty-third year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1907), the Qing Dynasty set up the Dongsheng Hall in the eastern part of reclaimed areas of the left-wing and middle banners of Ordos; on December 28, 1949, the People's Self-Governing Committee of the Yimeng was renamed as the People's Self-Governing Government of the Yimeng of Suiyuan Province, and the Darhut District was set up in the former county flag of Huoluo People's Government; on April 30, 2001, Yikzhaomeng was officially renamed Ordos City with the approval of the State Council.

There are Dazhun, Jundong and Dongwu railroads crossing east and west, Baoshen and Baosi railroads crossing north and south; Ordos Airport is navigable to 43 cities. There are Genghis Khan Mausoleum, Ringing Sand Bay, Seven Star Lake, Kangbashi Tourism Area, Ordos Grassland and other attractions in the city.
In 2023, Ordos City completed the gross regional product of 584.986 billion yuan, calculated on the basis of constant price, an increase of 7.0%.
