Sichuan Province, abbreviated as "Chuan" or "Shu", is a provincial administrative region of the People's Republic of China, the birthplace of Chinese Taoism, the birthplace of the ancient Shu civilization, and the place where the world's earliest banknote, the "Jiaodi", appeared. The city is located in the interior of southwestern China. It is located in the interior of southwest China, on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and is known as the "Land of Heavenly Capital". The provincial capital is Chengdu. Sichuan salt culture, wine culture has a long history; Three Kingdoms culture, the Red Army culture, Ba culture brilliant. Between 26°03′~34°19′ north latitude, 97°21′~108°12′ east longitude, with Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu and Shaanxi and other seven provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) border. With a total area of 486,000 square kilometers, Sichuan Province governs 21 prefecture-level administrative districts, including 18 prefecture-level cities and 3 autonomous prefectures. There are 55 municipal districts, 19 county-level cities, 105 counties and 4 autonomous counties, totaling 183 county-level divisions. There are 459 streets, 2016 towns, and 626 townships, totaling 3,101 township-level divisions.At the end of 2022, the resident population of Sichuan Province was 83.74 million, with an urbanization rate of resident population of 58.35%.
The historical representative culture of Sichuan is "Ba Shu Culture". The geomorphology of Sichuan Province varies greatly from east to west, and the terrain is complex and varied, with great differences in elevation. The terrain of Sichuan Province is characterized as high in the west and low in the east, and consists of mountains, hills, plains, basins and plateaus. Sichuan Province belongs to three major climates, namely, the humid climate of central subtropical Sichuan Basin, the humid climate of subtropical mountains in southwest Sichuan, and the alpine climate of high mountains and plateaus in northwest Sichuan, with a pleasant climate in general.
In 2023, Sichuan realized a regional GDP of 6013.29 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry will be 605.66 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0%; the added value of the secondary industry will be 2,130.67 billion yuan, an increase of 5.0%; and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 3276.95 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1%.
