Nanchong City, also known as Fruit City, Silk City, Fruit State, prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, is located in the northeastern part of Sichuan Province, the middle reaches of the Jialing River, the landscape type is dominated by hills, the terrain slopes from north to south, belonging to the Central Subtropical humid monsoon climate, with a land area of 12,500 square kilometers. As of October 2022, the city has three districts, five counties and one county-level city under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the city had a resident population of 5.549 million.
Nanchong City has a long history, due to the ancient location of the southern part of the State of Charging named, originating from the Han Gaozu 202 BC set up An Han, built more than 2,220 years to date. Since the Spring and Autumn Period, Nanchong has been the seat of capitals, states, counties, prefectures, and provinces; and in the early period of liberation, it was the residence of the North Sichuan Administrative Region. The city has Zhu De's hometown, Langzhong Ancient City Scenic Spot and other tourist attractions. in May 2022, it was included in the planning scope of Ba Shu Cultural Tourism Corridor.
In 2023, Nanchong City's regional GDP was 273.476 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year.
