The Deyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in August 1992 with the approval of the provincial government and was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone in June 2010. The zone covers a total area of 68 square kilometers, with a planned development area of 51 square kilometers and a built-up area of 42 square kilometers. It has a population of approximately 200,000 and administers two subdistrict offices.The Deyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as one of the first national “National Demonstration Bases for New Industrial Industrialization” and recognized by the United Nations as an “International Demonstration City for Clean Technology and New Energy Equipment Manufacturing.” It is also a national demonstration pilot zone for circular economy transformation, a Sichuan Provincial Ecological Industry Demonstration Zone, an outstanding zone in Sichuan Province for attracting investment and facilitating industrial transfer, and a key specialty industrial park under cultivation.
