Development Zone Introduction
The Beijing Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone was approved for establishment by the State Council on July 23, 2008 (State Council Document [2008] No. 64), becoming the nation’s first airport-based comprehensive bonded zone and the only one in the country to include an airport port operation area.
The Beijing Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone has a planned area of 5.944 square kilometers, with a Phase I enclosed area of 3.177 square kilometers. It passed the joint acceptance inspection conducted by the General Administration of Customs and nine other national ministries and commissions on July 28, 2009.
The Beijing Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone integrates port clearance, bonded logistics, and export processing functions. It enjoys “bonded, tax-free, and license-free” policies and optimizes and consolidates the policy advantages of various domestic customs special supervision zones. It is currently Beijing’s only customs special supervision zone and is also the most open, functionally comprehensive, preferentially treated, and most efficient in terms of customs clearance among all such zones in China.
