Changgou town, Beijing Fangshan district under the jurisdiction of the town, is located in east longitude 115°48'38"~115°54'36", north latitude 39°32'43"~39°36'53". It is located in the southwestern part of Fangshan District, neighboring with Hundred-foot pole township of Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province in the east and south, bordering with Dashiwu town in the west, and connecting with Hancunhe town in the north. The town area is 38.1 square kilometers.
In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, Changgou Town belonged to Huaiyu Township of Fangshan County. In the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916), it belonged to seven districts of Fangshan County. 1949, it belonged to six districts of Fangshan County. 1950, it belonged to three districts of Fangshan County. 1954, it belonged to Changgou Township of Fangshan County. 1956, it belonged to Changgou Township of Fangshan County. 1958, it belonged to Zhoukoudian District. 1960, it belonged to Changgou People's Commune of Fangshan County. 1983, it was changed to a township. 1986, it belonged to Fangshan Mountainous District. 1989. The township was changed to a town. As of the end of 2018, Changgou Township had a household population of 28,035. As of December 2023, Changgou Town has 2 communities and 18 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town government is located at No.17 Changgou Street, Changgou Town.
In 2011, the total industrial output value of Changgou Town reached 540 million yuan, an increase of 4% over the previous year, with an industrial added value of 110 million yuan. The total financial income was 78.33 million yuan, an increase of 42% over the previous year. Completed tax 72.38 million yuan, an increase of 36% over the previous year. From the point of view of each major tax, the completion of business tax 24.94 million yuan, value-added tax 17.64 million yuan, corporate income tax 24.38 million yuan, respectively, an increase of 27%, 8.6%, 87% over the previous year.
On October 14, 2016, Changgou Town, Fangshan District, Beijing was listed as one of the first batch of Chinese characteristic towns.In 2018, it was reconfirmed as a national health county (township).
