Ayutthaya (Thai: พระนครศรีอยุธยา; English: PhraNakhonSiAyutthaya), pronounced Ayutthaya in Thai, was once the capital of Thailand's Ayutthaya dynasty, which flourished for centuries from 1350 to 1767.
On January 12, 2019, Ayutthaya Tourism Department director Orasa Aukong said that Ayutthaya received more than 8 million tourists in 2018, of which 70 percent were Thais with per capita spending of about 1,000 baht (about 200 yuan) and 30 percent were foreigners with per capita spending of about 1,500 baht (about 300 yuan).
