Chiang Rai (Thai: เชียงราย; English: Chiang Rai) is a province on the northern border of Thailand, bordering Myanmar to the northwest and Laos to the northeast. Chiang Rai itself is bordered by three other Thai provinces: Patten (to the southeast), Lampang (directly south) and Chiang Mai (to the southwest and west). Chiang Rai covers an area of 11,678 square kilometers, and its capital is located in the city of Chiang Rai.
