A National-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone, upgraded to national-level status in 2010 with the approval of the State Council, is located in Changshou District, Chongqing. With a planned area of 80 square kilometers, it serves as a key industrial base for heavy chemicals and new materials in Chongqing. The zone focuses on developing industries such as chemical new materials, steel and metallurgy, equipment manufacturing, and clean energy. It is home to leading enterprises including Chuanwei Chemical, Changshou Iron & Steel, Chongqing Iron & Steel, and Sinochem International.The park is adjacent to the Yangtze River’s “golden waterway” and features Changshou Port and a port-access railway, with the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and the Chongqing-Wanzhou Intercity Railway running through it. By 2025, the park aims to achieve a total industrial output value exceeding 150 billion yuan, with the chemical and new materials industry cluster alone surpassing 68 billion yuan. The park serves as a national demonstration pilot zone for circular economy transformation and is equipped with facilities such as a comprehensive bonded zone, an inspection and testing center, and talent apartments.
