Lampang Province (English: LamPangProvince; Thai: ลำปาง) is located 26 kilometers southeast of Chiang Mai and was formerly known as KhelangNakhon, an elegant and beautiful city with a high concentration of Burmese temples, and is the only province in Thailand where horse-drawn carriages are still used as a means of transportation.
The neighboring provinces of Lampang are (clockwise from north) Chiang Rai, Pathein, Phrae, Sukhothai, Lai Hin, Lamphun and Chiang Mai.
