Binhai New Area (滨海新区), a municipal district of Tianjin. Located in the north of the North China Plain, east of the Bohai Bay, west and Dongli District border, south and Huanghua City as a neighbor, north and Ninghe District, Tangshan City, Fenghuangnan District adjacent. Among them, 225 square kilometers of Dongli District is included in Binhai New Area, with a total area of 2,270 square kilometers.In 2020, the household population of Binhai New Area was 1,497,000, and the resident population was 2,067,300. As of October 2022, Binhai New Area has 16 streets and 5 towns under its jurisdiction. The district government is located at 1060 Dalian Dongdao.
In 2009, Tanggu District, Hangu District and Dagang District were abolished, and Binhai New Area was established. Binhai New Area is an important part of China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone, a national new area, a national comprehensive supporting reform pilot area, a national innovation-driven demonstration zone, a model city for the service management of ethnic minorities' migrant population, a model area for the national public cultural service system, a model city for the national double embracing model city, a civil unmanned aerial test base (pilot area), and a national civilized city.
In 2022, the Binhai New Area realized a gross regional product of 698.186 billion yuan, an increase of 1.1% over the previous year. Among them, the primary industry decreased by 6.1%, the secondary industry increased by 1.3%, and the tertiary industry increased by 0.9%. The structure of the three industries was 0.4:48.5:51.1.
