Tanggu Street, belonging to Tianjin Binhai New Area, is located in the central part of Binhai New Area, east to the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone No. 1 Cazimen, Jingshan Railway, Tianjin Xingang Customs east fence, Tianjin Xingang Passenger Terminal west fence, Xingangzha East Channel north land border, Xingangzha East Channel south land border, East First Road, Nanjian Road; south to Haihe River; west to Heibei Road; north to Jingshan Railway, Xingang Road No. 4; the total area is 21.77 square kilometers. As of the end of 2016, Tanggu Street had a resident population of 233,678.
In November 2009, the Tanggu area was incorporated into the Binhai New Area, and the Tanggu Management Committee was established at the same time; in December 2013, the former Xincun Street, Yujiabao Street and Xingang Street were merged to form Tanggu Street. As of June 2020, Tanggu Street has nine communities under its jurisdiction.
The economy of Tanggu Street is based on equipment manufacturing, port and shipping services, traditional commerce and tourism, shipping and logistics as the main pillar industries.
