Beitang Street is located in the center of Tianjin Binhai New Area, the former Tanggu District in the north. It is adjacent to Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and Tanggu Marine Hi-Tech Zone in the south, Sino-Singapore Eco-City and Qinghe Farm in the north, Huanggang Resort and Ninghe County in the west, and Bohai Bay and Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) in the east. The area of jurisdiction is 150.46 square kilometers, with a resident population of 16,406 (2010) and a floating population of 6,238 as of December 2016. It has 10 communities and 4 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the office located in the Cultural Palace Community. It is mainly engaged in aquaculture and sea fishing. The Jingshan Railway runs across the north and south, and the Jinjingtang Expressway crosses the east and west. It is a sea defense town with a history of 570 years. Beitang Battery Ruins is on the north side of the east section of Yangbei Street. The traditional flower show "Niangniang's Ride" is famous in Beijing and Tianjin.
