Park Overview
The Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), established on December 6, 1984, with the approval of the State Council, is one of China’s first 14 national-level economic and technological development zones. The following is some information about the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area:
Location: Located 40 kilometers east of downtown Tianjin, on the western shore of the Bohai Bay, adjacent to the Port of Tianjin.
Area: With a total planned area of 403 square kilometers, it comprises a single zone with multiple parks, including the East Zone, Business District, West Zone, Nangang Industrial Zone, Binhai-Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Modern Industrial Zone, Yixian Science and Industry Park, Microelectronics Industrial Zone, Southern Emerging Industries Zone, and the FAW-Volkswagen Base.
Economic Development: The Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area has been identified by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization as one of the six most dynamic cities and regions in China; it was named one of China’s most admired industrial parks by *Fortune* magazine; and it was recognized by *Forbes* magazine as a successful model within China’s Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy.It ranked first among China’s national-level economic and technological development zones for 15 consecutive years from 1997 to 2011; it ranked 13th in CCID’s “2023 Top 100 Parks for High-Quality Development.”
Industrial Structure: The zone has established industries in building materials, light industry and textiles, machinery and electronics, medical and pharmaceutical products, food, and fine chemicals.
