Xinzhen Township, formerly belonging to neighboring county of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the north of neighboring county, bordering Sangu Township, Wenxing Township of Dazhu County, Dazhou City, Shenhe Township in the east, Long'an Township in the south, Taihe Township, Mama Township of Dazhou County, Dazhou City, Jinji Township in the west, and Wenxing Township of Dazhou County, Dazhou City, in the north. The whole territory is in the middle of Tongluo Mountain. The area is 29.17 square kilometers, with a household population of 8,014 as of the end of 2018. At the end of the Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, a new township field was set up, then the field was changed to a township.In 1958, it was changed to Xinzhen Township Commune.In 1984, it was changed to Xinzhen Township.In December 2019, Xinzhen Township and Taihe Township were abolished, and Taihe Township was set up. In 2018, Xinzhen Township had 3 industrial enterprises and 4 general stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
