Huayhuash Township, formerly under the neighboring county of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the middle part of the Huayhuash Mountain Range, southwest of neighboring county, east of Tan Tong Town, south of Gaotan Town, west of Huayhuash Xikou Town, Yubei District of Chongqing Municipality, and north of Chunmu Township. The area is 32.54 square kilometers, with a household population of 4,188 as of the end of 2018.
In 1953, Huayng Township was set up.In 1958, the township was changed to a commune.In 1984, the commune was changed to a township.In December 2019, Huayng Township was abolished, and the administrative area it belonged to was transferred to the jurisdiction of Tan Tong Township.
