Gulu Township, formerly under the neighboring county of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the eastern part of neighboring county, neighboring Shiyong Township and Tongshi Township in the east; Jingping Township and Lianghe Township in the south; Liangpan Township and Chang'an Township in the west; and Lengjia Township in the north. The area is 31.09 square kilometers, with a household population of 8,493 as of the end of 2018.
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Shifune Li of Neighboring Mountain Township. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Yongxing Field.In 1958, the township was changed to a commune.In 1967, it was renamed Democracy Commune.In 1981, the commune was changed to a township.In December 2019, Gulu Township was abolished, and the administrative area it belonged to was transferred to the jurisdiction of Shiyong Township.
