Lai Chau Province (Vietnamese: TỉnhLaiChâu/Provincial Lai Chau) is a province on the northwestern border of Vietnam. It shares its name with the city of Lai Chau in the Chinese province of Shandong.
Lai Chau is one of the most sparsely populated provinces in Vietnam, bordered by Lao Cai Province to the east, Dien Bien Province to the west, Son La Province to the south, and Yunnan Province of China to the north.
