Quang Tri City Commune (Vietnamese: ThịXãQuảngTrị/ City Commune Quang Tri) is a city commune under Quang Tri Province in Vietnam. On September 16, 1989, it was upgraded to the status of a city commune, bordered by Thao Phong District in the north and Hai Linh District in the south.
Quang Tri is an industrial and commercial town in central Vietnam. It is on the east bank of Quang Tri River, 13 kilometers from Dong Ha in the northwest and 72 kilometers from Hue in the southeast. The population is about 17,000 people. The surrounding area produces rice, tea, pepper and hemp. The railroad and Highway 1 connect to Dong Hoi and Vinh City in the north and Hue and Da Nang in the south. From Highway 9, you can enter Savannakhet Province of Laos via Liaobao Pass to the west. There is an air station on the outskirts of the city.
