An Giang is a province belonging to the southwest of Vietnam. It is bordered by Dong Thap Province in the north, Cambodia in the west, Hau Giang Province in the east and Kien Giang Province in the south. An Giang has two cities and nine districts. Most of the inhabitants are ethnic Kinh and the remaining few are Chinese Vietnamese, Khmer and Champa. An Giang has two big rivers, the Tien Giang and the Hau Giang, which bring a lot of soil to the province every year to help the development of agriculture, and therefore the province is regarded as one of the biggest rice banks in Vietnam. In addition, An Giang is also a seafood bank, supplying Vietnam with a large amount of fish, shrimp, crab, etc. Most of the industrial projects in An Giang are focused on small handicrafts, such as making boat hulls, sailing boats, repairing agricultural machinery, and developing stone for construction. In addition, Tan Chau district is famous for its ancient handloom weaving and silk raising.
