Hai Phong City (Vietnamese: Thànhphố HảiPhòng / Chinese: City of Hoi Phong, Hoi Phong) is a coastal city in the north of Vietnam, the third largest city in Vietnam, with an area of 15,274.4 square kilometers, a population of 1,946,000 people, and in recent years, there are successive foreign investments and the establishment of modern industrial parks.
Hai Phong is close to Quang Ninh Province in the north, Hai Duong Province in the west, Taiping Province in the south, Beibu Gulf and Hainan Island in the east, and 70 kilometers away from Bai Long Mei Island County. Hai Phong is 102 kilometers northeast of Hanoi, the second largest city in Vietnam, and is a municipality in the north of Vietnam, second in size only to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as having the largest port in the north of Vietnam. It has a total area of 1,503 square kilometers. As of 2012, Hai Phong has 7 districts, 2 island districts, and 6 subdistricts, with a population of 1,907,705.
