Thanh Hoa City (Vietnamese: ThànhphốThanhHóa) is the capital of Thanh Hoa Province (Vietnamese: TỉnhThanhHóa), Vietnam. It was originally established at the level of city commune (Thịxã) and was upgraded to city (Thànhphố) in 1994.
Thanh Hoa City covers an area of 146.77 square kilometers, divided into 14 wards and 23 communities with a population of nearly 230,000 people. It is located in the Red River Delta, 137 kilometers south of Hanoi, with which it is connected by railroad and highway. The territory is full of mountains and rivers.
