High light town (has been withdrawn), formerly under the Yanting County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, is located in the southeastern part of Yanting County, east of Jinji Township, bordering Longquan Township in the south, west of Yulong Township, north of Wulong Township and Jinkong Township. The town people's government is 24 kilometers away from the county town. The total area is 62.85 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Gao Deng Township had a household population of 19,679. Anciently known as Leping, in October 1992, 4 villages, namely, Upstream, Lianhe, Shuangjian, and Union of Sanhe Township and 2 townships, namely, Gaofeng and Gaodeng, merged to form Gaodeng Township. As of October 2019, Gaodeng Township has 1 community and 24 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township's people's government stationed at 77 Government Street in the Rayon Community.On December 25, 2019, Longquan Township and Gaodeng Township were abolished, and Xiling Township was established to take the former Longquan Township and the former Gaodeng Township's Rayon Community, Upper River Village, Lianhe Village, Shuangjian Village, Union Village, Gaohua Village, Xingxing Village, Longxiang Village, Kirin Village, Qianghua Village, Yunyu Village, Yangchun Village The administrative area belonging to Maolin Village, Gaofeng Village, Chunhua Village, Yufeng Village, Mujiagou Village and Shidaochang Village is the administrative area of Xiling Town; Folding Bow Township and Jinji Township were abolished, Rayon Township was established, and the administrative areas belonging to the former Folding Bow Township, the former Jinji Township, the former Longpan Village of Gaodeng Township, and Groups 1 and 2 of Xianjang Village of Jinkong Township were assigned to the jurisdiction of Rayon Township. As of the end of 2019, Gaodeng Township has 6 industrial enterprises and 17 general stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
