The Jiangyou High-Tech Industrial Park (formerly the Sichuan Jiangyou Industrial Park) is a provincial-level industrial development zone established in 1992 with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. In 2001, it was designated as a provincial-level key development zone by the Provincial Government. In February 2006, following review and approval by the National Development and Reform Commission and subsequent endorsement by the Provincial Government, it was renamed the Sichuan Jiangyou Industrial Park.Originally planned with an area of 7.29 square kilometers, the development plan for the new 20.73-square-kilometer expansion zone was approved by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province (Sichuan Government Letter [2013] No. 177), bringing the total planned area of the park to 28.02 square kilometers. In March 2018, it was upgraded to a provincial-level high-tech industrial park.
