Dongfeng Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang District, Beijing, lies between longitude 116°28′37″~116°31′09″ East and latitude 39°55′33″~39°57′50″ North. Located in the eastern suburb of downtown Beijing, it is a combination of urban and rural areas, bordering Pingfang Township and Dongba Township in the east, Baliizhuang Street and Liulitun Street in the south, Liulitun Street and Mazidian Street in the west, and Jiangtai Township and Jiuxianqiao Street in the north. The maximum distance between the east and west of the area is 3.3 kilometers, and the maximum distance between the north and south is 2.8 kilometers, with a total area of 7.38 square kilometers.
During the Republic of China period, Dongfeng area belonged to a district in the suburbs of Beiping; after 1949, it belonged to the East Suburb District and Chaoyang District successively; in March 1961, Xinghuo People's Commune was established; in February 1978, Xinghuo People's Commune was renamed Dongfeng Township; and in February 2003, Dongfeng Township (District) Office was established. As of June 2020, Dongfeng Township has 10 communities and 4 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
As of the end of 2019, Dongfeng Township had a household population of 35,884, 4 industrial enterprises, and 11 general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
