Gaobeidian Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang District, Beijing, is located in the eastern part of Chaoyang District, between 116°28′1″~116°33′21″ and 39°53′12″~39°55′48″ N. The township is neighboring Sanmafang area in the east, Wangsiying and Nanmafang areas in the south, and the core area of the CBD in the west, which is connected with Jianwai and Bailizhuang Streets, and Pingfang area in the north. The area of the township is 15.08 square kilometers.
In 1952, it belonged to the eastern suburb of Beijing.In 1961, Gaobeidian Township was changed to a commune.In April 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In August 1993, Gaobeidian Township was set up as Gaobeidian District Office. As of the end of 2019, Gaobeidian Township had a household population of 54,026. As of June 2020, Gaobeidian Township has 28 communities and 4 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township government is located at No. A1 North Gaobeidian Road.
In 2011, the total industrial output value of Gaobeidian Township reached 2.31 billion yuan.
