Kailu County, a county under the jurisdiction of Tongliao City in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the western part of Tongliao City, in the hinterland of the West Liaohe Alluvial Plain, with a temperate continental semi-arid monsoon climate, adjacent to eight banners (districts) and with a total area of 4,488 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the household population of Kailu County was 386,751. As of October 2022, Kailu County is governed by 10 towns and another 3 townships.
"Kailu", for the reclamation, development of East Zalut Banner, West Zalut Banner and Arukhorqin Banner "three Lu" a region of the meaning, so the name. The main attractions of Kailu County include the Ancient Elm Garden, Maixin Memorial Hall, Heilongba Red Memory Collection, and the Kailu County Pagoda.On October 29, 2019, Kailu County was selected as one of the second batch of National Agricultural Products Quality Safety Counties.On January 6, 2020, Kailu County was selected as one of the "Fourth Batch of National Pioneers". On January 6, 2020, Kailu County was selected as one of the "Fourth Batch of Demonstration Counties (Municipalities and Districts) of the Nation Taking the Lead in Achieving the Mechanization of the Whole Production of Major Crops".
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Kailu County will be 14.651 billion yuan, an increase of 1.7% over 2021.
