Linhai Town, belonging to Sheyang County, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the north of Sheyang County, bordering the Yellow Sea in the east, Qianqiu Town in the south, bordering Qianqiu Town and Wuhong Town, Binhai County in the west, and the north to the North Jiangsu Irrigation Main Canal and the Huaihe River's waterway into the sea, and Zhendong Township, Binhai County, and is 30 km away from the People's Government of Sheyang County, with a total regional area of 229.28 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Linhai Township had a household population of 78,432.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to the sixth district of Funing County; in April 1984, it was changed from Linhai Township to Linhai Township. As of June 2020, Linhai Town has 10 communities and 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the town's people's government stationed at No. 3 Center Street.
