Laizhou Town, belonging to Yanping District, Nanping City, Fujian Province, is located in the western part of Yanping District, on both sides of the Futun River, bordering Xichen Town in the southeast, Shaxian District, Sanming City in the south, Wangtai Town in the southwest, and Mundang Town in the northeast, with an administrative area of 66.77 square kilometers. During the Song Dynasty, it belonged to the township of Celery Whistle.In July 1980, it was changed to Laizhou Town because it shared the same name with Laizhou in Shandong Province.In January 1995, it was abolished as a city and became a district, belonging to Yanping District of Nanping City.
