Yuetan Street, Beijing Xicheng District under the jurisdiction of the street, is located in Xicheng District in the central and western part of the city, between the longitude 116 ° 19 ′ 42 ″ ~ 116 ° 21 ′ 16 ″, latitude 39 ° 53 ′ 46 ″ ~ 39 ° 55 ′ 02 ″. From Fuxingmen South and North Street and Fuchengmen South Street in the east, it is adjacent to Financial Street, from Sanlihe Road in the west, it is adjacent to Yangfangdian Street in Haidian District, from Lianhuachidong Road in the south, it is adjacent to Guang'anmenwai Street, and from Yuetan North Street in the north, it is adjacent to Exhibition Road Street. The maximum distance between the east and west of the district is 2.2 kilometers, and the maximum distance between the north and south is 2.3 kilometers, with a total area of 4.1 square kilometers.
During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Yuetan area belonged to Wanping County of Shuntian Prefecture. During the Republic of China (R.O.C.) period, it belonged to Wanping County, Jingzhao Prefecture. In January, 1925, it belonged to the western suburb of Beijing. In August 1945, it belonged to the four districts in the suburbs of Beijing, and in January 1949, it belonged to the 18th district of Beijing, and in July 1949, it belonged to the 16th district, and in October 1949, it belonged to the 13th district, and in July 1952, it was renamed as Haidian district, and in June 1953, it was set up as three townships in Haidian district, namely, Zhenwumiao, Nanyingfang, and Sanlihe, and in March 1956, it was transferred to Xidan district, and Zhenwumiao street, Nanyingfang street, Nanningfang district, and Sanlihe district were set up, and Zhenwumiao street, Nanningfang street, Sanlihe district and Xidan district were established. In March 1956, Zhenwumiao, Nanyingfang and Sanlihe Townships were transferred to Xidan District, and Zhenwumiao and Nanyingfang Streets were established; on September 27, 1958, Zhenwumiao and Nanyingfang Streets were merged to form Yuetan Streets, which is a part of Xicheng District, and in June 1980, the area from the north of Yuetan Beijie to the south of Fuchengmenwai Avenue was transferred to Fuwai Street.
As of June 2020, there are 26 neighborhoods under the jurisdiction of Yuetan Street.In 2011, Yuetan Street had a total population of 149,100 people, an industrial output value of 620 million yuan, and a total financial income of 3.98 billion yuan.
