Bangjun Town, belonging to Jizhou District of Tianjin, is located in the western part of Jizhou District and the southern foot of Panshan Mountain, neighboring Blotter Town and Dongzhaogezhuang Town in the east, Dongjiying Town and Sangzi Town in the south, Bailjian Town in the west, and Xujiantai Town and Guanzhuang Town in the north, 15 km away from the urban area of Jizhou, with a total area of 35 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Bangjun Town had a household population of 34,128.
In 1958, Bangjun Commune was established.In 1961, the commune was divided into smaller ones, and the former Bangjun Commune was analyzed and set up into six communes, including Dong'erying Commune, Liujianting Commune, Bailijian Commune, Bangjun Commune, Lizhuangzi Commune, and Xujiadai Commune.In 1986, the township was changed into the town of Bangjun. As of June 2020, Bangjun Town has 43 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town's people's government is located at No. 1, Xizhongnandao Village.
