Park Overview
Park Overview
Established on December 28, 1991, the Wuqing Development Zone in Tianjin, China, is a National Economic and Technological Development Zone, a National High-Tech Industrial Park, and the core area of the Tianjin National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, with a built-up area of 36.88 square kilometers.
Location and Transportation
Wuqing is the region in Tianjin closest to Beijing. Situated at the junction of the Beijing-Tianjin metropolitan area, it serves as a key node on the Beijing-Tianjin development axis and is an integral part of the central core functional zone. It is 71 kilometers from downtown Beijing, 30 kilometers from downtown Tianjin, 90 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, 45 kilometers from Beijing Daxing International Airport, 35 kilometers from Tianjin Binhai International Airport, and 71 kilometers from the Port of Tianjin.Within a 15-minute drive of the Wuqing Development Zone, there are four expressways—including the Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu, Beijing-Tianjin, Beijing-Shanghai, and Tianjin-Baoding Expressways—with six interchanges; one stop on the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway; and one passenger and one freight station on the Beijing-Shangqiu Railway. National Highways 103 and 104 pass through the district. The “Tongwu-Lang” suburban railway project is accelerating its implementation, and a nine-horizontal, nine-vertical three-dimensional transportation network provides comprehensive connectivity.

Industrial Ecosystem
Innovation Platform Support
The region boasts innovation platforms such as the National Patent Pilot Park, the International Health Industry Demonstration Zone, and the Tianjin Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base, as well as 25 municipal-level or higher innovation platforms. These provide enterprises with services including technological R&D, pilot-scale testing and commercialization, and technology incubation.
The region has established postdoctoral research stations, academician workstations, and expert service bases to attract high-end talent teams for scientific research and to promote industry-academia-research collaboration.
Industrial Chain Synergy
The smart technology industry has formed a complete industrial chain spanning “R&D—design—manufacturing—application,” while the biopharmaceutical industry has built a collaborative innovation system covering “basic research—clinical trials—production—medical services.”Through collaboration between upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, the region achieves resource sharing and technological complementarity, thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of the industry. For example, automotive parts manufacturers and vehicle manufacturers jointly conduct product R&D to shorten product time-to-market.
