Jianyang City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, administered by Chengdu City, is located in the western part of the Sichuan Basin, southeast of Chengdu, straddling the longitude of 104°11'34"~104°53'36 "E and the latitude of 30°4'28"~30°39'0 "N. It has a subtropical monsoon climate, with distinctive seasons, cold winters, hot summers, and rainy autumns, and covers a total area of 2,213.52 sq km (including 870.16 sq km in the Chengdu East New Area 870.16 square kilometers). As of October 2022, it has 16 streets and 21 towns under its jurisdiction, with the People's Government stationed at No. 6, Renmin Road, Shehongba Street. As of the end of 2022, the household population of Jianyang City was 1,496,500 people.
Jianyang City is known as the "Xiongzhou of Tianfu". In the second year of Yuan Ding of the Han Dynasty (115 years ago), Niubian County was set up. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the name was changed to Jianyang County, and in 1994, the county was abolished to establish a city, and on May 16, 2016, the city of Chengdu was put under the administration of the city. Janyang city has Longya cultural site, East Han sarcophagus painting, Easy Cave Han monument site, the four scholars of Jianzhou (Wang Guipu, Xu will, Zhang Xiaoxiang, Xu Yi) has a long-lasting influence. Specialty agricultural products include late white peaches, red cherries and winter strawberries in Jianyang, which is known as "the hometown of late white peaches in China". Convenient transportation, National Highway 318, 319, 321 intersection here, Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail, Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed, Yuyong high-speed, Chengdu Economic Zone ring road high-speed and other major channels throughout the territory.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Jianyang city will be 67.299 billion yuan, an increase of 1.6% over the previous year.
