Pengzhou City, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, administered by Chengdu City, is located in the northwestern part of the Sichuan Basin, the northwest edge of the Chengdu Plain, bounded by the Longmen Ridge in the north and bordered by Wenchuan County and Mao County; in the south, it is separated by the Qingbaijiang River and Pixi District and Xindu District; in the northeast and southeast, it is adjacent to the city of Shifang City and Guanghan City; in the west it is connected to the city of Dujiangyan, with subtropical wet monsoon climate and a total area of 1,421.43 square kilometers. The territory of Pengzhou City was the land of Shu in ancient times. In the twenty-second year of King Zhao of Qin (285 years ago), Shu County was established in Shu, and counties were set up under the county. 1993, Peng County was abolished, and Pengzhou City (county level) was established.
