Jintang County, belonging to Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, is located in the northeast of Chengdu Plain, neighboring Zhongjiang County of Deyang City in the east, Lezhi County of Ziyang City and Jianyang City in the south, Guanghan City and Zhongjiang County of Deyang City in the north, and Qibaijiang and Longquanyi Districts in the west, and lies between longitude 104°20′37″-104°52′56″E, and latitude 30°29′10″N -30°57′41″, with a total area of 1155.62 square kilometers. Jintang County has 6 streets and 10 towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2021, Jintang County has a total household population of 904,000 people.
Jintang County is a key development county in the "Chengdu Plain Economic Circle" and a "Specialized Industry Development Zone" in Chengdu. With the Zhonghe, Bihe and Beihe Rivers passing through the city, Jintang County is known as the "Tianfu Garden Water City". Jintang County is a pilot county of the National Intellectual Property Rights Project.
In 2022, Jintang County will realize a gross domestic product (GDP) of 60.29 billion yuan, ranking 15th in the city and 2nd in suburban districts (cities) and counties; the year-on-year growth rate is 6.5% at comparable prices, ranking 1st in the city.
