Wenjiang District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, municipal jurisdiction, is located in the northwestern part of Chengdu city center, Chengdu Plain hinterland, east of Qingyang District, south and Shuangliu District even border, west and Chongzhou City, north and PI Du District, Dujiangyan City, connected to the terrain from the northwest to the southeast of the gently sloping, simple geomorphological features, flat, belonging to the subtropical wet monsoon climate zone, the four seasons are clearly defined. As of June 2023, the district has six streets and three towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of the district was 998,700 people.
Wenjiang District, known as "Liu Cheng" in ancient times, was the birthplace of the ancient Shu Eider Kingdom more than 4,000 years ago, and Wenjiang County was set up in the second year of Emperor Gongdi of the Western Wei Dynasty (555 years) In April 2002, Wenjiang County was abolished, and Wenjiang District of Chengdu City was set up. Wenjiang is the birthplace of the ancient Shu mallard kingdom, since ancient times to "four rivers through the river, the river is warm and moist" and named, known as the "Golden Wenjiang" reputation. It has been approved as the Pilot Reform Zone of China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the National Pilot Zone for Integrated Urban and Rural Development, and the Demonstration Zone for Transferring and Transforming Scientific and Technological Achievements in Sichuan Province. It is the birthplace of mallard culture, Sichuan bonsai culture and light prayer music culture, as well as the home of Sichuan Jinqiang Blue Whale Club, the organizer of events such as the China Equestrian Festival, and the first batch of provincial-level demonstration zones for all-area tourism.
In 2022, Wenjiang District realized a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 71.711 billion yuan, an increase of 3.0% over the previous year at comparable prices.
