Xinlin Town, belonging to Zalait Banner of Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northeastern part of Zalait Banner, east of Longjiang County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, across the river, south of Bayanzaraga Township and Albengrad Township, west of Bayan Ulan Sumu, north of Hulunbeier Zalantun City, Guanmen Mountain Township. The area of Xinlin Town is 723.86 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2018, the household population had 36,162 people.
Before liberation, the area of Xinlin Town was under the jurisdiction of the Eighth Nutuk; after liberation, it was a part of Hundahan Nutuk; in 1956, it was divided to build Xinfa Township; in 1961, Xinlin Commune was established; in 1984, it was changed to Xinlin Township; in 1986, it was withdrawn from the Township to build a township; in 2005, Hundahan Township was merged into Xinlin Township. As of June 2020, Xinlin Town has 2 neighborhood committees and 17 village committees under its jurisdiction.
In 2017, the number of enterprises in Xinlin Township totaled 150, and the number of people employed in enterprises was 860; in 2018, there were 189 general stores or supermarkets with business area of 50 square meters or more in Xinlin Township.
