Tumuji Town, belonging to Zalait Banner of Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southern part of Zalait Banner, bordering with Tailai County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province in the east, Zhenlai County, Baicheng City, Jilin Province in the south, Kerqin Rouwyizianqi Banner and Ulaanhot City in the west, and Yindel Town in the north. The area of Tumuji Town is 880 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2018, the household population had 13,492 people.
Before liberation, the area of Tumuji Town was under the jurisdiction of Horqin Right Wing Back Banner; after liberation, Tumuji Nutuk was built; in 1955, it was assigned to Zhalaid Banner and changed to Tumuji Township; in 1958, Tumuji Commune was established; in 1984, it was changed to Tumuji Soum; in December 1999, it was changed to Tumuji Town.
