Genshi Township, belonging to Taixing City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the northwestern part of Taixing City, neighboring Huangqiao Township in the east, Jichuan Street and Yao Wang Street in the south, bordering Binjiang Township in the west, and Xuanbao Township in the north, with an administrative area of 58.9 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Genshi Township is 43,828.
During the Ming Dynasty, it was Taiping Township; in 1983, the People's Commune was abolished and Genshi Township was reset; in 2000, Lao Ye Township was incorporated. As of June 2020, Genshi Township has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is based in Genshi Village.
