Dongping Town, belonging to Yangdong District, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southeastern part of Yangdong District, bordering Beipu Town of Taishan City in the east, Dagou Town in the west, Xinzhou Town in the north, and Nanhai Sea in the south, with a coastline length of 35 km, and an area of 131.5 square kilometers in the administrative area. As of the end of 2020, the resident population of Dongping Town was 36,654.
In November 1950, Dongping Township was established and belonged to the second district. in November 1983, it was changed from a commune to a district. in 1986, the district was abolished, and Dongping Township was established.
