Shengjiang Town, belonging to Luoding City, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, is located in the central part of Luoding City, 9 kilometers away from Luoding City, with a total area of 62.21 square kilometers, of which 29,700 acres are mountainous and 20,500 acres are arable land. It has 11 villages and 1 community under its jurisdiction; according to the data of the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Shengjiang Town was 24,946 people.
Shengjiang Township belonged to Takishui County from the sixth year of Song Kaibao (973 AD) to the fourth year of Ming Wanli (1576 AD). From the fifth year of Wanli of Ming Dynasty to the end of Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Luoding Prefecture. During the Republic of China period, it belonged to the first and fourth districts of Luoding County, and in June, 1961, it was set up as Shengjiang Commune, and in August, 1983, it was set up as a district, and in November, 1986, it was abolished as a district and established as a town.
Shengjiang is located in the middle and western part of Luoding red basin, belongs to the hilly area, the average annual temperature is 22℃, rainfall is 1450mm, it is the important grain production area and high quality rice production town of Luoding city, it is rich in lychee, longan, shagang tangerine and other Lingnan fruits, among them, the water capsule lychee is the speciality of the town. There are tourism resources such as Guangdong Treasure Lake National Wetland Park, Yun Gui An and Huaping Lychee Ancient Road. It is a model town of leisure agriculture and rural tourism in Guangdong Province and a strong education town in Guangdong Province.
In 2017, Shengjiang Town realized a gross local product of 668 million yuan, up 6.5% year-on-year; an industrial output value of 380 million yuan, up 5.6% year-on-year; and an agricultural output value of 288 million yuan, up 7.9% year-on-year.
