Funabu Town, belonging to Luoding City, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southeastern part of Luoding City, neighboring with Xinyi, Maoming and Yangchun, Yangjiang in the south, and bordering with 䓣tang Town, Luping Town and Weidi Town in the east, west and north of Luoding City. The total area of the town is 129.2 square kilometers, and the polder area is about 4.6 square kilometers. There are 18 villages and 1 community under its jurisdiction.The total household population at the end of 2019 was 88,196. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Funabu Town was 56,992 people. Funabu is located in the Mirror Ship Basin, the town is full of water, with "three rivers and six banks", National Highway 234 Transit Highway and other unique geographical development advantages, is a livable and business-friendly prosperous center town, producing rice, vegetables, sericulture, chicken, peanuts, beans, tempeh and tofu and other specialty agricultural products. The main tourist resources include "Eight rows of mountain scenery", which consists of eight mountains with different styles, and is known as "Shangri-La" in Guangdong. Funabu Town has a long history, and has been a county town and county seat for two times (305 years in total) in history. Funabu is at the confluence of three rivers, ancient water transportation is developed, there are many docks, so the name Funabu. It used to be a major transportation route and ancient post road for the Han people to go south for trade and commerce. During the Han Dynasty, the merchants "took Guangxin as the center to enter the ports in Nanhai by separate routes", and then "went down the Nanjiang River in the southeast to the Funabu and pierced through the mountains, and then went out of Xinyi and Gaozhou and went down to the port of Xunwen". In the first year of Kaibao of Tang Dynasty (742 years), it changed Taki Prefecture to set up Kaiyang County, and in the second year of Qianyuan (759 years), it changed Kaiyang County to set up Taki Prefecture, set up Kaiyang County Office in the old county natural village of Ganbu Village, and built the Kaiyang Academy, which has accumulated a rich Confucian culture in Kaiyang County. In 2013, it was assessed by the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Department as a professional town of technological innovation and chemical industry in Guangdong Province, the center town of Guangdong Province, and was listed as a national key town in 2014.In 2018, the town's total industrial output value was 148 million yuan, with an added value of 332.77 million yuan of industrial value; the total agricultural output value was about 436 million yuan, and total retail sales of consumer goods were about 483 million yuan.
