Sanquan Town, belonging to Nanchuan District, Chongqing City, is located in the eastern part of Nanchuan District, east of Danyou Town and Guizhou Province Daochen County border, south of the head of the town adjacent to the west and Dongcheng Street, Nancheng Street, north of Yuquan Township adjacent to the Nanchuan District People's Government 11 kilometers away from the resident area of the people's government of the Nanchuan District, the area of a total area of 191.5 square kilometers.
In the sixth year of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1667), the territory of Sanquan Township belonged to Fuli Rokka; in October 1992, Half River Township was merged with Longfeng, Sanquan and Jinhu Cai villages of Dongsheng Township to become Sanquan Township. As of the end of 2018, Sanquan Town had a household population of 20,321.
