Mulin Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Shunyi District, Beijing, is located between longitude 116°42′30″~116°51′05″ East and latitude 40°10′44″~40°18′36″ North. Located in the northeastern part of Shunyi District, it is situated at the junction of Shunyi, Miyun and Huairou districts and counties, bordering Longwantun Town in the east, Yang Town and Beixiaoying Town in the south, Yangsong Town of Huairou District in the west by the Chaobai River, and neighboring with Henanzhai Town of Miyun County in the north. The town area is 83.4 square kilometers.
At the beginning of the Republic of China, Mulin area belonged to the third district of Huairou County. During the Anti-Japanese War, it belonged to five anti-Japanese joint counties, such as Jipingmi, Pingmixing, Pingsanmi, etc. In 1958, it was set up as the Mulin People's Commune.In January 1960, it belonged to Shunyi County.In November 1960, it was set up as Mulin Township.In August 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In November 1989, the township was changed to a township. As of the end of 2018, Mulin Township has a registered population of 36,014. As of October 2019, Mulin Township has 26 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township government is located at No. 71, Mulin Section, Shunjiao Road.
