Longwantun Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Shunyi District, Beijing, is located in the northeastern part of Shunyi District, between longitude 116°49′12″~116°56′06″E and latitude 40°11′12″~40°17′30″N. The township covers an area of 57 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Yukou Town of Pinggu District in the east, Zhang Town in the south, Mulin Town in the west, and Dongshaoqu Town of Miyun District in the north, with a township area of 57.02 square kilometers.
During the Republic of China (1912~1949), Longwantun area belonged to Sanhe, Huairou and Miyun counties.In 1949, it belonged to the first district of Shunyi County.In 1958, it belonged to Mulin People's Commune.In June 1961, it was set up as Longwantun People's Commune.In August 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In May 1994, the township was changed to a town. As of the end of 2018, Longwantun Township had a household population of 16,778. As of October 2019, Longwantun Township has 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township government is located at 13 Front Street, Longwantun Township.
In 2011, Longwantun Township's total financial revenue was 57.57 million yuan, of which 22.58 million yuan was local financial revenue. From the perspective of each major tax, the completion of business tax 15.94 million yuan, value-added tax 380,000 yuan, enterprise income tax 680,000 yuan, personal income tax 10.35 million yuan.
