Gaoliyang Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Shunyi District, Beijing, is located between longitude 116°28′14″~116°35′06″ East and latitude 40°06′57″~40°11′39″ North. It is located in the western part of Shunyi District, east of Nanfaxin Town, south of the town is connected with Houshayu District, west of the town is bordered with Xiaotangshan Town of Changping District, and north of the town is neighboring with Zhaoquanying Town. The town area is 61.1 square kilometers.
The town was established in the first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1662). It used to belong to Changping County.In 1949, it was changed from a fort to a village and belonged to Shunyi County.In 1950, it was reclassified to Changping County.In 1956, it was reclassified to Shunyi County to establish a township.In 1958, it belonged to Zhangxizhuang People's Commune.In August 1975, it was divided into GaoLiYing and ZhangXiZhuang 2 Communes.In August 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In November 1989, the township was changed to a town.In April 1998, ZhangXiZhuang Township was annexed to the township. As of the end of 2018, Gaoliying Township had a household population of 29,054. As of October 2019, Gaoliying Township has 1 community and 25 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township government stationed on the west side of Zhangxizhuang Village on Shunsha Road.
In 2011, the total industrial output value of Gaoliyang Town reached 4.35 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% over the previous year. Total fiscal revenue of 470 million yuan, an increase of 41% over the previous year. Of which 140 million yuan of local revenue, an increase of 38% over the previous year. From the point of view of the main taxes, the completion of business tax 110 million yuan, 120 million yuan of value-added tax, 140 million yuan of corporate income tax, personal income tax of 0.4 billion yuan, respectively, 35%, 12%, 69%, 133% growth over the previous year.
