Bulaotun Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Miyun District, Beijing, is located in the northeastern part of the urban area of Miyun District, between longitude 116°52′52″~117°04′06″E and latitude 40°30′03″~40°42′30″N. It is connected with Gaoling Reservoir in the east and adjacent to Fengjiayu Town in the west, and borders with Luanping County, Hebei Province in the north. It is connected with Gaoling Township in the east, Miyun Reservoir in the south, Fengjiayu Township in the west, and Luanping County of Hebei Province in the north. The town area is 193.2 square kilometers. At the beginning of the Republic of China (R.O.C.), Bulaotun area belonged to the third district of Miyun County. After the thirty-fourth year of the Republic of China (1945), it belonged to the fourth district of Miyun County Shizi Town and Bihua County. 1949, it belonged to the fourth district of Miyun County. 1950, it belonged to the seventh district of Miyun County. 1953, it was built into eight townships of Shayuli, Bianzhuangzi, Bingmaying, Yanzhu, Donggezhuang, Bulaotun, Chengezhuang, and Zhuangwetun. 1958, in September, it was transferred to Rocket People's Commune (Reservoir People's Commune). 1959, it was incorporated into Gaoling People's Commune. It was merged into Gaoling People's Commune.In 1961, Bulaotun People's Commune was established.At the end of 1983, the commune was changed to a township.In March 1990, the township was changed to a town.In December 1993, Banchengzi Township was merged into it. As of the end of 2018, Bulaotun Town had a household population of 23,844. As of June 2020, Bulaotun Town has 2 communities and 26 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the town government residing in Bulaotun Village. In 2011, Bulaotun town industrial output value of 30.825 million yuan, industrial added value of 9.06 million yuan, profit of 2.04 million yuan, paid taxes of 1.06 million yuan, completed export delivery value of 2.4 million yuan. Total fiscal revenue of 30.825 million yuan, a decrease of 9.2% over the previous year, the completion of tax revenue of 1.06 million yuan, an increase of 59.8% over the previous year.
