Mujiayu Township, a town under the jurisdiction of Miyun District, Beijing, is located in the eastern part of the urban area of Miyun District, between longitude 116°51′16″~117°03′22″ East and latitude 40°21′57″~40°30′12″ North. It is bordered by Taishitun Town in the east, Jugezhuang Town in the south, Gulou Street and Miyun Town in the west, and Miyun Reservoir in the north. The town area is 102 square kilometers.
In 1965, Mujiayu area was established as Mujiayu Commune.In 1983, the commune was changed to district.In 1987, the district was changed to township.In 1993, the township was changed to town. As of the end of 2018, Mujiayu Town had a household population of 33,685. As of June 2020, Mujiayu Township has 3 communities and 22 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township government is located in South Mujiayu Village.
